Dis | Place is a series of monotype prints portraying abstracted dream- like spaces inspired by urban aesthetics and forms. Each unique print shares a common thread of layering, transparency and individual surface treatment. The chine collé method allows me to form a sculptural language in a two dimensional space through the bonding of layered papers. Chine collé disguises itself well into the surface and plays with both depth and flatness in these images. In Dis | Place, I have utilized a mixture of mediums and colors to evoke a feeling of emptiness and displacement.
